Engineer – Process Engineering ID-5665
What You Will Do
This role will serve as a process equipment system owner for the Chemical Synthesis API Manufacturing Facility in ASM, supporting facilities and engineering teams. You will act as a liaison among manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and automation teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues. Your experience in design, qualification, operation, maintenance, and improvement of Chemical Synthesis API process equipment will support daily manufacturing activities and lead improvement projects. A broad knowledge of Chemical Synthesis processes is essential for complex troubleshooting. You will also partner with vendors to identify opportunities to improve site reliability, efficiency, and agility.

Main Responsibilities

Operational Support
- Serve as subject matter expert in process engineering to support manufacturing safety, compliance, and operations.
- Lead investigations and troubleshooting of process equipment issues.
- Recommend corrective, preventive, and improvement actions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address operational challenges, ensuring minimal disruptions.
- Contribute technical expertise to continuous improvement projects.

Equipment Design & Qualification - Project Engineering
- Participate in design reviews and setup of new assets, including maintenance planning.
- Engage in commissioning and qualification activities, including protocol review and approval.
- Work with stakeholders to develop requirements and implement modifications.
- Develop innovative technical solutions for process challenges.

Innovation
- Enhance Business Intelligence capabilities for data analysis and performance trending.
- Benchmark equipment reliability and productivity, and develop improvement plans.
- Evaluate predictive technologies for potential implementation.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience, or Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or High school diploma/GED with 8 years of experience.
- Experience in process engineering within chemical synthesis API manufacturing.
- Expertise in at least two engineering areas such as equipment design, operation, maintenance, automation, or validation.
- Knowledge of high potency API processes and equipment (e.g., reactors, isolators, utilities) is advantageous.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Operational Excellence practices like lean manufacturing is a plus.
