AWS re/Start responds to the growing need for additional cloud talent within our AWS customers and partners. The program recruits, trains, and finds cloud positions for unemployed and underemployed people. The result is a global, diverse talent pool of hundreds of thousands of skilled AWS practitioners. The program combines a response to customer needs with a compelling corporate social responsibility initiative.

AWS Training and Certification is seeking a dynamic, organized, and experienced Program Management Leader, who is passionate about stimulating positive social change. This individual will lead the APAC team and be focused on expanding the AWS re/Start footprint through the region.

A successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a strong desire to roll up your sleeves and willingness to support the program wherever you are needed. You will be responsible for establishing, managing, and supporting an ecosystem of collaborating organizations, public bodies, community impact groups, AWS Account Managers, and AWS customers across APAC. The candidate will oversee a team of regional program managers who are responsible for all elements of the AWS re/Start program, including access to funding mechanisms, identifying underemployed and unemployed communities, the delivery of the re-skilling program, and the job placements for AWS re/Start graduates. You will oversee the customer journey, monitor the program to ensure AWS is achieving outcomes for program learners and employers, and continuously seek out opportunities to improve and scale the program.

Responsibilities

Lead the APAC AWS re/Start team and own the responsibility of delivering on the AWS re/Start regional operating plan.

Use your localized knowledge to establish a network across public bodies, community impact groups, and corporate organizations to socialize AWS re/Start and to identify opportunities for the program.

Establish working relationships with regional AWS Sales leadership and APAC Country Managers.

Build an understanding of the job market, engaging with prospective employers.

Engage directly with AWS account and business development teams as well as AWS customers and partners to establish entry-level talent gaps, which if fulfilled, would support the customers Cloud Adoption journey and provide a job placement for an AWS re/Start graduate.

Monitor the execution of the program, paying particular attention to the job placement success levels.

Track and report key performance indicators and provide additional support and guidance to the collaborating organizations, where appropriate.

Work with APAC marketing and public relations teams to promote and brand the program.

Basic Qualifications

Fluent English language skills - written and verbal.

Bachelor degree in business, technology, or relevant field of study.

7+ years of relevant work experience in the IT training/education industry, preferably in cloud computing.

Experience managing disparately located teams

Experience building programs to scale across multiple countries.

A thorough understanding of the APAC market - including an appreciation of the nuances between countries.

Program or Product Management qualifications, such as PMP, Agile, SCRUM, or equivalent.

Experience working with technical vendors to identify and cultivate opportunities.

Superior oral and written communication skills, with experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units.

Preferred Qualifications

Partner or vendor management experience.

Previous experience of working with non-profit funding mechanisms.

Knowledge of AWS products. AWS qualifications, such as AWS Partner AWS Business Professional, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent.

Learning & development qualifications, such as CPTD, CPTM, APTD, HR certifications, or equivalent.

Experience of working with technical vendors (to identify opportunities)

Experience driving global Corporate Social Responsibility Programs.
